How to grow Sorrel, Red veined microgreens?

With it's botanical name lat. Rumex sanguineus, Sorrel microgreens cultivation requires dedication and patience.

  • Make sure not to soak the seeds before planting them, as this is unnecessary for their growth.
  • The germination process takes 7 days +
  • Using fertilizer is a MUST, like with other small seeded microgreens.
  • 14 days growing phase for full grown baby leaves! Of course you can grow it to full size or only to babyleaf stage.
  • You can use peat substrate
  • Give the seeds some air in every 3 days during the germination
  • Do not cover the seeds during the germination
  • But during the germination you can, give some light to the seeds
  • Color of light doesn’t matter
  • Give the germinated sprouts the light as soon as possible to not have too long stem

It's important that you space out the sowing of Sorrel properly, because too dense seeding will cause complications during development. Also don't forget: sterile conditions, plenty of light and air alongside hydroponic systems are essential elements in ensuring healthy plant growth with delicious end results!

PRO TIP: To promote sprouting time freeze the seeds before sowing for 3 days.
