Introducing Basil Cinnamon Microgreens Seeds: Where Green Meets Zing!
If you're looking for something beyond classic basil, Basil Cinnamon microgreens are an excellent choice. Their sweet basil flavour is complemented by gentle cinnamon notes, creating an aromatic garnish that stands out in both taste and appearance.
Cultivation tips for Cinnamon Basil:
Growing these aromatic little greens takes a bit more patience than most microgreens, but the results are definitely worth it! Basil Cinnamon is best suited for growers who already have some experience, as its mucilaginous seeds require a slightly different approach.
Start by sowing the seeds without pre-soaking. Once watered, they develop a natural gel coating, so soaking beforehand will only make sowing more difficult. Keep the tray in blackout for 4–6 days, until the stems reach at least 1.5 cm in height.
Then move the tray under grow lights or bright indirect light. After the first 3–4 days under light, you can increase the light intensity, as basil enjoys strong light and will grow sturdier and faster. Because of its relatively long growing cycle, feeding with a balanced fertilizer is recommended for the best results.
Harvest when the microgreens reach the true leaf stage, usually after 14–28 days of total growing time. At this stage, the plants develop their characteristic sweet, cinnamon-like aroma and are ready to enjoy.
