Description
Basil microgreens seeds (Italian) - only patient growers will be rewarded handsomely
When it comes to Basil, no introduction is required. A staple in kitchens around the world but particularly revered for its place in Italian cuisine alongside pasta, pesto and pizza. This Genovese variety - the most prized type of Italian basil known for its superior flavor profile - features green leaves and stems and an intense and cooling taste that ends with delightful minty undertones! While all Genovese basil is Italian basil, not all Italian basil is Genovese - making these microgreens a true culinary treasure that gives each meal its own unique experience that's hard not to enjoy!
Cultivation tips for Basil microgreen seeds:
MP SEEDS Basil microgreens are a gorgeous and flavourful addition to many meals, but they can be tricky to grow. To get the best results with your basil crop, avoid soaking the seeds before planting- they have special gelly pouch structure around! Place in blackout darkness for 5-6 days until stems reach at least 3cm tall - this will allow enough ventilation so mold doesn't take hold of your precious greens. If you are patient enough then enjoy 14 more growing days under plenty of light and fertilizer. Good luck!
Basil microgreens - health benefits:
Basil microgreens are nature's powerhouse packed with Protein, vitamins (such as A, C) and minerals! Not only that but they can help reduce inflammation in the body (eugenol) and tackle bacterial infections. Plus, basil helps build strong bones (Ca) as well as regulate hormones (Zn, Mg) for improved health overall - even aiding blood clotting when needed (Vit. K). Better eaten raw to not to lose its nutritional values.
