How Do Ebb & Flow Hydroponic Trays Work?

Ebb and Flow trays, also known as hydroponic flood trays, form the working area of a flood and drain system. During each watering cycle, the tray is filled with water or nutrient solution and then drained.

Choosing the right tray depends on the available growing area, rack or grow table dimensions, drainage layout and installation requirements.

How to Choose the Right Hydroponic Tray Size

  • Measure your rack or grow table. Check its internal width and length. Leave sufficient space for access, cleaning and drainage connections.

  • Plan the inlet and drain position. The 90 × 180 cm model allows you to select both positions during installation.

  • Check the delivery route. Make sure large one-piece trays will fit through doors, corridors and lifts.

  • Consider assembly. The 120 × 240 cm tray is supplied as one piece, while the 120 × 270 cm model consists of two sections that must be glued together.

  • Match the tray to your growing area. Consider the required growing surface and how the tray will fit into your normal production workflow.
